It has been fewer than two months since they were last in a chapel, and now the newlywed Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to visit another one. Several weeks after the couple tied the knot at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, they will attend the christening of Prince Louis, which will take place on July 9 at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace. The guest list for the event has been released hours ahead of its occurrence, with the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall also set to be in attendance for the christening of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child. Prince Louis, younger brother to Prince George and Princess Charlotte, was born on 23 April in London, and hasn’t been seen in public since that day.

The tot will wear the handmade replica of the Royal Christening Robe, made by dressmaker to the Queen Angela Kelly, for the service, which will also be attended by his maternal grandparents, Michael and Carole Middleton. The Duchess of Cambridge’s pregnant sister and brother-in-law, James and Pippa Matthews, and brother James will round out the crowd. Prince George and Princess Charlotte are also expected to attend the service, marking the first time the Cambridges will have been seen together as a family of five. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will miss the christening, Buckingham Palace confirmed, due to health reasons.

Prince Louis’s godparents have also been revealed ahead of the christening, with no members of Britain’s royal family included. Close friends of Prince William, Nicholas van Cutsem and Guy Pelly, have made the list, along with the duke’s schoolfriend Harry Aubrey-Fletcher. Family friend Lady Laura Meade, Catherine’s schoolfriend Hannah Carter, and the duchess’s cousin, Lucy Middleton, rounded out the group of those asked by Their Royal Highnesses.

Following the service, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will host a private tea at Clarence House, Kensington Palace have revealed. During the occasion, guests will be served christening cake, which is taken from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s eight-tier wedding fruit cake from 2011.
