She has been busy feteing her impending nuptials to Nick Jonas this week, but Priyanka Chopra made a cross-continental trip after the festivities to mark some more with her family. The Quantico star, who has been celebrating her upcoming wedding in Amsterdam with her nearest and dearest, flew from the European city to Mumbai to spend Diwali with her family. The actress returned to India on Tuesday night, ahead of the Hindu Festival of Lights beginning on Wednesday, along with her sister, who had accompanied Chopra to the Dutch capital.
The star later shared several touching snapshots from her family celebrations, revealing that it was “so good to be home”. “I wish for the world to be bestowed with love, light and happiness,” she told her 29 million Instagram followers on the occasion. This isn’t the only get-together Chopra’s family will be enjoying this month, with the 36-year-old reportedly set to wed her American musician fiancé between November 30 and December 2, in a three-day affair with 200 guests present.
Thought the couple, who became betrothed on the actress’s birthday in July after a whirlwind romance, have not yet confirmed the location of their big day, it is believed to also be taking place in India. The couple will tie the knot in Jodhpur, according to Times of India, with a source telling the publication the wedding will take place in a palace. While a location has not yet been confirmed, Jodhpur – the second largest city in Rajasthan – is home to the famed Umaid Bhavan Palace, where Liz Hurley wed Arun Nayyar back in 2007. Times of India also reports that the couple recently visited the city to finalize wedding arrangements, as well as visit friends, signaling the big day could be held in the imminent future.
Speaking at the launch of the Tiffany Blue Book Collection in New York earlier this month, Chopra opened up about her tight bond with Jonas, revealing they were united by “love for family and faith”. “We’ve known each other for a couple of years but we dated for just a little while, but I think that’s the one thing we really connect on is our love for family and knowing faith is so important to us,” she said, according to E! News. “It’s a very different feeling I never realized that having a boyfriend and having a fiancé are completely different. It just feels different. There’s gravitas. You feel like family, which is just so different.”
