HM Queen Rania Shares Tender Moment With HM King Abdullah During Tokyo Visit

They have been married for more than 25 years, and the affection shared between HM Queen Rania and HM King Abdullah II has certainly not dimmed over the years. In fact, it appears to glow brighter than ever, according to the couple’s latest snap. The Jordanian royals were this week pictured in Tokyo, where they are making an official visit to meet with officials and rulers.

On the day when they met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and First Lady Akie Abe, the royals were pictured preparing for a meal, when Queen Rania tenderly stroked her husband’s tie. The heartwarming image was shared by Her Majesty on Instagram, captioned: “With His Majesty in Tokyo yesterday during a working visit to Japan.” HM also shared a shot with the nation’s First Lady, as she wore an elegant black blouse with pleated cuffs, and a refined, embroidered white midi skirt.

The Jordanian royals on Sunday journeyed to Japan, following a visit to the UK to watch youngest daughter Princess Salma graduate from a military academy. The couple were swiftly welcomed to the Tokyo Imperial Palace by Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko, where the quartet discussed their nations’ friendship and historic relations over a lunch banquet, according to the Jordanian Times.

For the occasion, Queen Rania turned to a monochromatic ensemble of a white-trimmed top, with a gentle peplum waist, and an ornately printed, pleated midi skirt. A black bag and white pumps completed the tonal look, for a chic and polished effect.

Earlier in the week, Her Majesty repped several brands from the region, as she sported a farwa from Saudi Arabian womenswear label Abadia over an elegant black midi to watch Princess Salma graduate from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. The label, co-founded by Shahd AlShehail, is famed for its reimagined take on the men’s outerwear staple, with Queen Rania’s iteration finished with gold, red, and black embroidery. The royal also toted a bag from Egyptian label Okhtein for the outing, where she was joined by HM King Abdullah, and eldest children Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Iman.

“From a graduation gown a few months ago to a military uniform today, you have proven how capable you are!” HM Queen Rania captioned an image with her 18-year-old daughter, dressed in her military garb. “Congratulations to our daughter Salma on graduating from a Short Commissioning Course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.”
