Gigi Marks Eid Al-Adha by Celebrating With Zayn and his Family

She made a humanitarian visit to Rohingya Muslim refugees in Bangladesh just last week, however, Gigi Hadid has not returned to her native US, it seems. Instead, the half-Palestinian supermodel has spent the last few days in the UK, marking an Islamic holiday with her on-off beau’s family. The 23-year-old celebrated Eid Al-Adha with Zayn Malik and his mother, confirming that the couple’s newly rekindled relationship is firmly back on track.

For the occasion, Hadid donned a traditional printed kurta from Pakistani label Almirah, Indian and Pakistani fashion retailer Janan revealed on its social media pages. The catwalk icon styled the colorful number with white tasseled trousers from Stonez, giving a nod to her partner’s British-Pakistani heritage.

Images of the couple were shared on Instagram by Malik’s sister Waliyha Azad, and showed the pair celebrating with the singer’s mother Tricia. Malik comes from a Muslim background while Hadid’s father, Mohamed, is of Muslim origin, and has lived in Syria and Tunisia, as well as the US. The couple are believed to have spent the holiday in Malik’s home city of Bradford, shortly after enjoying a sun-drenched vacation at a currently unknown exotic destination.

The model and former One Directioner have rekindled their relationship in recent months, after first announcing a split in March after two years together, they revealed in separate statements at the time. “Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend,” the singer wrote on Twitter. “She has such an incredible soul. I’m grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time.”

Hadid echoed his sentiment, writing on her Twitter page: “Breakup statements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years.” The model continued: “I’m forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Z and I shared. I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for.”

However, three months later, the duo stoked rumors they had reconciled, with Hadid using her Instagram account to upload several snapshots with Malik. Then, in July, the model used the social media platform to embrace her sunspots in a close-up selfie of her makeup-free face, writing “my baby says he likes my sunspots”. It was one of the first public confirmations from Hadid that the couple had reignited their romance.
