An early Christmas present for Hadid obsessives: after weeks of keeping baby Zigi off Instagram, Gigi shared the first proper glimpse of her newborn daughter during a visit to Yolanda’s Pennsylvania farm. The supermodel gave a tongue-in-cheek summary of motherhood so far in the caption – “a whole new kind of busy and tired” – with the added caveat that her little one is “da bestie so she got Christmas decorations early”.
Inevitably, the fashion industry quickly stormed her Instagram comments with well wishes – with everyone from Cara Delevingne to Hailey Bieber, Helena Christensen to Dua Lipa, sending their love to the best cheekbones in the business and her two-month-old. Even social media renegade and world’s proudest grandfather Mohamed Hadid chimed in: “Need to be close to her. Love you and her so much.”

Just as notable from the post: Hadid’s maximalist approach to festive decor. In particular, her frosted pine is studded with wonderfully kitschy baubles that nod to her hobbies and passions – including a video game console (see her 2020 Halloween costume) and a cheeseburger (the supermodel is quite possibly the world’s foremost leading connoisseur when it comes to finding the best patties in Manhattan). There’s even a tiny electric guitar, presumably in a nod to her “baby daddy” Zayn. In the top spot on her tree? A giant star courtesy of Target’s Christmas “Wondershop”, emblazoned with the words “Santa Stop Here” in glittery red handwriting and capped with a multicoloured LED projector.

While Gigi may currently be riding out the second Covid-19 wave in the countryside, the 25-year-old notably just completed her “dream” spot in the city, finishing renovations on a two-bedroom apartment in NoHo earlier this summer. Among the statement pieces she chose for her living space? Everything from Missoni’s colourful Mah Jong sofa to pillows by Jean-Paul Gaultier. Wherever she celebrates, it seems baby Zigi, for one, is going to have herself a merry little Christmas.
