Princess Caroline of Monaco has welcomed a new grandchild into her family after her daughter gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. Charlotte Casiraghi reportedly delivered her 7lbs 2oz son in London on Tuesday, People reports, which is the first child for the style icon and her fiancé, French-Lebanese film producer Dimitri Rassam. Casiraghi also has a four-year-old son, Raphaël, with her former partner, French-Moroccan comedian Gad Elmaleh, while Rassam has a daughter from his marriage to model Masha Novoselova.

The 32-year-old royal welcomed her new arrival at the British capital’s Princess Grace Hospital, which is named after her grandmother, movie star Grace Kelly, who became Princess of Monaco after marrying Prince Rainier III in 1956. Casiraghi, who is eleventh in line to the throne of Monaco, was first linked with Rassam in 2016, with the notoriously private couple’s engagement noted only after Casiraghi stepped out at 2018’s Rose Ball with a diamond ring glimmering on her finger.

The new mother, who is an established writer, and the film producer, who is the son of late French-Lebanese film producer Jean-Pierre Rassam and French actress and model Carole Bouquet, are reportedly set to tie the knot next year. The baby news comes just over a week after Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex announced they were expecting their first child, and six months after Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their third child, Prince Louis.
