Kylie Jenner is one of the most famous women on the planet, and her multi-million dollar beauty empire and 380 million Instagram followers serve as proof. Having grown up in the public eye, the multi-hyphenate has never shied away from sharing snippets of her life, case in point: her latest interview with Vanity Fair. “It has always been natural for me. Notoriety, exposure never got in the way of my personality,” Jenner shared with the magazine, before adding that her family is what keeps her “grounded, firmly anchored in the reality of things.”

Along with her relationship with fame, the brand new interview also has Jenner opening up about how much her family means to her, and elaborating more on her experiences with motherhood, along with the “baby blues” she mentioned in a recent episode of The Kardashians.

When asked about her relationship with her parents, Jenner shared that both, her mother Kris Jenner and father Bruce—now Caitlyn—Jenner have been critical in shaping her personality. “My mother is the strongest woman I know. From an early age she instilled in us the idea that we could do something great,” Jenner stated, and then shared that Caitlyn Jenner was the one who taught her “one of the most important lessons: to learn to respect yourself, not to be afraid of who you are.”

Her sisters have had a similar influence on her life. “Khloé taught me tenderness and the ability to forgive; Kendall, the importance of friendship and unconditional love; Kourtney, the value of health and the need to not be superficial; Kim, strength, and the ability to always tell yourself that you can do it, come what may. Kim is really strong, really resilient.”

Coming to what life is like as a mom of two—Stormi and Aire—Jenner spoke openly about postpartum depression, sharing that she has “experienced it. Twice. The first time was very difficult, the second was more manageable.” The 25-year-old also went on to remind other women in a similar position “to live through that transition, without fear of the aftermath. The risk is to miss all the most beautiful things of motherhood as well.” The most important takeaway from her conversation with the magazine, however, may be the simple answer to who inspires her. “My children. And my family.”
