It seems like Vogue Arabia’s September 2023 issue is not the only thing that is under the spell of fairytale magic. This week, Kourtney Kardashian celebrated motherhood via a Disney-themed baby shower, which had all the makings of the family’s usually extravagant parties, but with a sprinkle of fairy dust.

While Kardashian and her husband Travis Barker kept a safe social distance from guests, they left no stone unturned when it came to evoking the “happiest place on earth” with decorations and food. The unmissable highlight? A giant, colorful banner saying Baby Barker in storybook font, in front of which the father-to-be snapped an adorable picture of Kardashian wearing an animal print onesie and a personalized Mickey Mouse hat. Barker also shared a photo of the baby shower cake, which was shaped like a milk bottle on waves and featured Mickey Mouse steering the wheel on top.

Given that the shower was a brunch party, the food station saw an assortment of fruits, themed pretzels and pancakes, potion vials with green juice, as well as cake pops, and caramel apples. Another station was set up with a sewing machine to customize the Mickey Mouse hats for guests including Kim Kardashian and her daughter North West, Kris Jenner, and Barker’s stepdaughter Atiana de la Hoya. Other noteworthy details such as a wishing tree, and entertainment provided by a quartet of Dapper Dans rounded out the baby shower.

It’s not long until the couple is set to welcome the arrival of their baby boy, after a journey full of ups and downs. A recent emergency caused Kardashian to be hospitalized during her pregnancy, and Barker’s band Blink 182 had to cancel a few shows so he could be by her side. After recovery, the mother-to-be took to Instagram to share an update: “As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery. I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant.”
