Kim Kardashian West turned 38 on October 21 and, naturally, our social media feeds were flooded with birthday tributes for the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star. While the entrepreneur kept a relatively low-key profile on her big day, simply sharing a photo of flower bouquets captioned “Thank you for the birthday wishes” on her Instagram stories, her family, friends, and fans took to various social media platforms to celebrate her.
“My entire life, you’ve always been someone that I look up to. To me, You are super woman!” Khloé wrote alongside a set of images, including a heartwarming snap of the pair with their babies True and Chicago. “I’m so thankful for us getting closer over the last year. You’re a rider! Without you I would be lost!”
Kourtney also shared a photo of her with her younger sister, writing: “So blessed to walk through life with you by my side always. It’s crazy how much we have gotten to experience together, you are my strength when I can’t find my strength. Wishing you the happiest birthday!”
Also taking to social media to celebrate her sister was Kendall Jenner. The model uploaded several clips from a sweet video that Kanye West made in honor of his wife’s birthday last year, which was filled with candid footage from her childhood. She captioned it “Happy birthday to my beautiful sister” alongside a rose emoji. Kim’s youngest sister Kylie Jenner also shared her own tribute, posting a clip of the pair collaborating on a Kylie Cosmetics line. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIMMY” she wrote alongside the video. “I LOVE YOU.”
Her mother went on to share a heartwarming message of her own, which was accompanied by a collage of photos of Kim throughout the years, including adorable shots of the newly-minted 38-year-old when she was a baby. “You are the best mom, wife, sister, daughter, and friend and I am beyond blessed to be your mom. I cherish every single memory we share and wish for you all the love you give us every single day…I love you,” wrote Kris Jenner.
Meanwhile, her husband chose to surprise her a day early with some special gifts. “This is what I wake up to, guys,” wrote the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, sharing a video of a giant, display of, exotic flowers, hanging in containers, commissioned by the rapper. West, who is known for his over-the-top gift-giving (cue the massive wall of white flowers for Mother’s Day 2014), also orchestrated a live pianist to serenade his wife. “Kanye’s the most creative when it comes to sending me flowers for my birthday!” she wrote. “Love you so much babe.”
It wasn’t just Kim’s family that took to Instagram to celebrate her. The entrepreneur’s closest friends, including her longtime makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic, Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing, Riccardo Tisci, Jennifer Lopez, and Naomi Campbell who wished Kim “many blessings on this special day and an amazing new year to come.”
“Happy Birthday to my day 1 @kimkardashian. I was looking for my favorite images of you and realized my real faves are the ones with no makeup on,” wrote Dedivanovic alongside a set of photos, starting with a black-and-white image of a fresh-faced Kardashian West. “To know the real you actually has nothing to do with the glitz, glam, the fame. It’s really hard to describe why I love and respect you so much, but since day one you have always just been the most put together person I’ve ever known. The world see’s that on the outside , but I’m talking about the inside,” continued the celebrity makeup artist, who has been working with the reality star for a decade.
“You are mentally strong, level-headed, organized, always kind and fair, on time, well mannered. You show respect to everyone. You’re never entitled or act like the world owes you something. You’re patient and calm. You take control of your own life and destiny and you firmly hold the pen that writes your life story. You take risks but you’re never reckless or foolish. You don’t dwell or complain about the past. You manage your life, world and family so well and make it all look effortless. You deserve it all. You truly are a special person and I’m so grateful to know you. You inspire and influence so many around the world but everything I mentioned above is what inspires me.”
Longtime hairstylist to the Kardashian-Jenner family Jen Atkin wished a happy birthday “to the OG She-EO,” thanking her for “so many incredible memories over the years.” Of course, her right-hand man Jonathan Cheban also paid tribute to his “Best friend forever.”
