Kim Kardashian West can be described in a multitude of ways: successful entrepreneur, renowned fashion and beauty icon, popular reality television star, and aspiring lawyer. Yet, in addition to all these accomplishments, she’s a proud mother who loves to highlight the achievements of her little ones and her littlest one, Psalm, has a lot to celebrate these days. A little more than a month after his first birthday, the one-year-old infant is now officially walking and Kardashian West couldn’t wait to share the exciting news on Instagram yesterday, posting a few photos from a cozy mother-son cuddle session to commemorate the milestone occasion with her 175 million followers.
“My baby boy Psalm is the sweetest! He just started walking!” wrote the mother of four, who welcomed the youngest member of the family into their lives on May 10 last year.
Although the Kardashian West clan is notorious for throwing the biggest birthday bashes, especially for their children — do North’s epic Candy Land and Saint’s Jurassic-themed parties last year ring any bells? — it seems Psalm marked his first birthday in a more intimate setting due to the coronavirus lockdown throughout California at the time. However, Kardashian West once again posted a sweet social media tribute to her son in honor of this momentous time.
“My baby Psalm turns 1 years old today!!!!!!” she captioned on a black-and-white video of the birthday boy lying flat on the floor. “Psalmy you complete our family. You make everything perfect. I love you so much!!!! Happy Birthday Psalm.”
It seems like it was just yesterday we were all waiting with bated excitement when Kardashian West announced her first pregnancy with Kanye West. Fast forward eight years later to today and the happily wedded couple now have four children together: seven-year-old North, four-year-old Saint, two-year–old Chicago, and the baby of the hour Psalm. In an exclusive interview with her husband in honor of her first Vogue Arabia cover, Kardashian West revealed she always planned to have a big family and “really wanted four kids.” While she hopes they all “will have little bits of us and lots of themselves” in their personalities, she is also hopeful of a positive legacy she and West will leave behind.
“I often reflect on the most amazing childhood I had and I want them to always be able to look back and say, ‘I had the most awesome life. My parents gave me all of the tools to be great and happy in life. They were fun, good, awesome parents and they were always there.'”
