A big congratulations are in order for Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and her husband Prince William. It’s been revealed that the couple is expecting their third child. The exciting news was announced on Twitter this morning. “Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child,” read the statement. The new bundle of joy will be a sibling to Prince George, 4, and Princess Charlotte, 2.

The statement also reveals that the duchess, who suffered two complicated pregnancies plagued by hyperemesis gravidarum, a rare condition that causes severe morning sickness, will put a halt to her planned public appearances due to the disorder. “The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news. As with her previous two pregnancies, the duchess is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer carry out her planned engagement at the Hornsey Road children’s centre in London today. The duchess is being cared for at Kensington Palace.”

The mother-of-two, who married Prince William in 2011, recently joked about having a third baby while being given a present fit for newborns en route to the Presidential Palace in Poland in July. “We will just have to have more babies,” she joked to her husband then.

The news comes shortly after another royal, Princess Madeleine of Sweden, announced she was expecting her third child with husband Christopher O’Neill. It’s currently unknown how far along in her pregnancy the duchess currently is, although we can expect a spring arrival given the time of the announcement.
