Nearly two weeks since her abdominal surgery, Kate Middleton has been discharged from the hospital to continue recovering from home. The announcement was made by Kensington palace, which stated that the Princess of Wales had been cleared to leave the London Clinic in Marylebone and would resume her recuperation at their family home Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor estate. “She is making good progress,” the statement added. “The Prince and Princess wish to say a huge thank you to the entire team at the London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided. The Wales family continues to be grateful for the well wishes they have received from around the world.”

The palace confirmed the news of her “planned abdominal surgery ” on January 17 without revealing any exact details of the treatment. However, it did state that the princess is not expected to resume royal duties until Easter based on her medical advice at the time. The news came alongside the announcement that King Charles was due to receive treatment for an enlarged prostate. The king is currently recovering at the same London Clinic and has postponed his upcoming royal engagements. Both, the princess and the king have had hospital visits from their significant others, with William, Prince of Wales said to have made daily trips,  while Queen Camilla was seen at the clinic over the weekend.

The princess’s last public appearance was on Christmas Day when she attended a church service with Prince William and their three children at the Sandringham estate.
