She announced her engagement to long-time beau Joshua Kushner on Instagram this week, but some of Karlie Kloss‘s nearest and dearest found out long before the news hit the social media platform. The American supermodel has given fans a glimpse at her sharing the news with family members and some of her celebrity friends, as well as a look at her impressive engagement ring. Taking to Instagram Stories on Wednesday, the 25-year-old uploaded screen grabs from Facetime calls with her mother and sister, as well as tennis ace Serena Williams.
The athlete grinned in excitement as Kloss, who has been dating Kushner for six years, held up the estimated seven-carat diamond. The supermodel also called British royal Princess Beatrice of York, who looked stunned by the news.
The sister of Princess Eugenie, and cousin to Princes William and Harry, holidayed with Kloss and Kushner in Jordan this past spring, Vogue US reports. The newly-engaged couple first announced their betrothal in an Instagram picture on Tuesday. “I love you more than I have words to express,” Kloss captioned the photograph. “Josh, you’re my best friend and my soulmate. I can’t wait for forever together. Yes a million times over.”
Kloss met Kushner, 33, who is the brother of Jared Kushner, advisor to Donald Trump and Ivanka Trump’s husband, in 2012. The couple has recently been holidaying in Italy, where they were photographed on a yacht off the coast of Capri with the likes of Paul McCartney and Misha Nonoo. It is speculated, however, that the proposal took place weeks before, with a source telling People that Kushner got down on one knee “during a romantic weekend together in upstate New York”. “They’re both overjoyed and happily celebrating. Their hearts are full and they’re excited to build their future together,” the source added.
