Taking the internet by storm is Korean band B.I.G with their recent cover of the hit song “3Daqat” by the Egyptian singer Abu featuring Egyptian actress Yousra. This cover is part of the group’s “The Global Cover Project” but it isn’t the first time the K-Pop group has covered a song in Arabic. On January 31, they released a cover of the song “La Bezzaf” by the Arab boyband The5. The genre of K-Pop music, as well as the popstars, has a huge fanbase in the Arab countries. So when the five-member group of B.I.G decided to show their love for their fans by covering a song in Arabic, it blew up with over 1.9 million views to date.

The group even went on the KBS World Radio Arabic in South Korea to do a live performance of their first Arabic cover. In the interview, the group’s member Heedo said that the Arab fans were the reason why they chose the song “La Bezzaf” and also because they felt that the song suited them the best. Another member, Benji also added that they would like to collaborate with The5 someday.

In response to the cover of their song by the Korean band, The5 took to social media to say, “B.I.G’s cover video is great. It’s an honor how a K-pop boy band covered our song.”

Members Benji, Gunmin, Heedo, Minpyo, and Jinseok debuted as B.I.G in 2014 under GH Entertainment with their first digital single, “Hello”.
