“It’s an honor to be selected for the opening night of Tribeca, and so fitting to be celebrating this critical milestone in Jennifer’s life and career just miles from where she grew up!” Micheli shared with Deadline. “To have the opportunity to share this film on the big screen with a New York audience is a dream come true.” Tribeca Film Festival co-founder Robert De Niro added that Lopez’s story is an inspiring one that informs people. “Powerful storytelling — whether in music, film, or games — encourages us to fight for universal values that bind humanity together. Halftime featuring Jennifer Lopez, reminds us of that,” he said.
Peeking into the evolution of the pop icon that is Jennifer Lopez, Halftime takes a look at all her greatest moments inclusive of her grand performances influencing many globally, her iconic Super Bowl Halftime Show, and the recent Presidential Inauguration. The film marks only the beginning of the superstar’s life, leading into the second half of it as she takes on many more endeavors and achieves more milestones. From being a mother, a musician, an actor, a performer, a Latina woman, and now a soon-t0-be-wife, the documentary aims to show Lopez is just getting started.
