It seems Jennifer Lopez‘s daughter has inherited her mother’s impressive singing talents. Twelve-year-old Emme Maribel is set to perform at one of the biggest events of her life, at her mother’s upcoming wedding with baseball great Alex Rodriguez.
The daughter of Lopez and Marc Anthony, Emme revealed her plans to sing at the nuptials in an interview with E! News where she mentioned her desire to perform a sentimental song that connects her with Lopez, who would often sing the tune to her when she was younger. “One song that I think I would sing is a song that connects me and her, but I’m thinking of a song that would also connect her and Alex,” she said during the interview. “But one that connects me and her is, You Are My Sunshine.”
Earlier this year Emme took the stage with her mother at the Superbowl halftime show for a memorable performance from the mother-daughter duo. It is clear that the pair have a special bond, with Emme noting the Grammy-award winning singer to be “such a powerful human being”. “I don’t even know how to explain it. There are so many adjectives that can describe her in so many good ways,” she said of her mother.
Lopez and Rodriguez’s highly anticipated wedding, which was planned for this summer in Italy, had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. At the time Lopez expressed her disappointment with the delay of her wedding but said she believes that it “will be better” when they pair are able to go ahead with the celebration. The couple has been together since 2017, and later became engaged in March 2019. Lopez was previously married to fellow Grammy-award winner Marc Anthony, with whom she shares 12-year-old twins Emme and Max.
