Valentine’s Day this year is a rather special one for Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, who have officially rekindled their love since splitting in 2004. The confirmation came via Lopez herself, who took to her newsletter, On the JLo, to let her fans in on the early Valentine’s Day present Affleck made for her.
The Academy Award-winning actor chose to create a personalized music video for Lopez with clips of their time together from 2002 to 2004. An homage to their first relationship, the nostalgia-inducing video sees glimpses of some much-loved ‘Bennifer’ moments, including Affleck’s cameo in JLo’s ‘Jenny From The Block’ music video, and the Gigli premiere in 2003. Tying it all together are a few pictures from the couple’s childhood, and the song ‘On My Way’ taken from Lopez’s latest film, Marry Me, for a special touch. Speaking of the “very personal” surprise in her newsletter, Lopez, said, “Watching it made me think about the journey of true love, its unexpected twists and turns, and that when it’s real, it actually can last forever. This seriously melted my heart.”
The couple also started the celebrations of their first Valentine’s Day since officially getting back together with a date night on Sunday. At Super Bowl LVI in Inglewood, California, Lopez and Affleck were spotted watching the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals match. Alongside public appearances, the duo has also been opening up about their relationship. “I’ve never been better. I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with [Ben],” the singer recently told People, adding, “It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance. Before we kind of put [our relationship] out there and we were naive and it got a little trampled. We’re older now, we’re smarter, we have more experience, we’re at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things. We’re so protective because it is such a beautiful time for all of us.”
