Haven’t you heard? Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are honeymooning in Paris. They’re frolicking around the Louvre! Cruising down the Seine! Strolling arm in arm through the Jardins des Champs-Elysées! And, thanks to their megawatt star power, photographers are snapping pictures of it all.
Sure, the whole Parisian love affair is providing plenty of internet and tabloid content. But it’s also providing something else: travel tips. Paris, after all, is called the City of Love. Who better than these infatuated honeymooners—reunited after almost two decades apart—to show how exactly to indulge in the romantic side of the French capital?
Below are the hotels and restaurants where Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have been spotted in Paris.
Hôtel de Crillon
The two have been posted up at the Hôtel de Crillon, right upon the Place de la Concorde. The storied neoclassic property dates back to the 18th century when King Louis XV asked architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel to build two palaces a few blocks away from the Seine. The western building has had many lives: its where Benjamin Franklin signed a treaty with the French government that recognized the Declaration of Independence, where King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette holed up before being guillotined during the French Revolution, and after it officially became a hotel in 1901, where Woodrow Wilson stayed while in town to sign the Treaty of Versailles.
Now managed by Rosewood, it’s known as one of the preeminent five-star hotels in Paris, with its gilded Bar Les Ambassadeurs and Grands Appartements designed by the late Karl Lagerfeld.
Loulou
Tucked within the Musée des Arts Décoratifs is Loulou, named after Saint Laurent’s favorite muse Loulou de la Falaise. In the summer, its sprawling patio on the Jardin du Carrousel is the place to be—as Lopez and Affleck proved when they stopped by last week. Order the truffle pizza and bask in the view of the Eiffel Tower, which at night, sparkles every hour. (An added bonus? If you are heading down to St. Tropez after flying into Paris, they have a second outpost in Ramatuelle.)
Girafe
Reports say that Lopez and Affleck celebrated her 53rd birthday at this Joseph Dirand-designed restaurant, which is adorned in cream-colored banquettes, a marble bar, and leafy green plants. It’s known for its shellfish and offering some of the best views of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Plénitude
Lopez and Affleck were spotted dining at Plénitude, the fine-dining restaurant helmed by Michelin-started chef Arnaud Donckele at the Cheval Blanc. Their tasting menus—which change with the seasons—have already received rave reviews since the restaurant opened last fall.
Matignon
On their first night in Paris, the honeymooning couple headed the Charles Tassin-designed Matignon in the 8th arrondissement. The hotspot is known just as much for its wild interiors (think red rooms and animal prints) as it is for its disco-balled club downstairs.
Brasserie Lipp
Lopez and Affleck took their children to the historic Brasserie Lipp in the 6th arrondissement, which has been a Left Bank institution since 1880. One report says the blended family dined on farmhouse chicken and pavé de boeuf.
