On Tuesday night, IWC Schaffhausen held its annual gala dinner in Geneva in honor of its 150th anniversary. The occasion brought out a host of A-list names— including Cate Blanchett, Bradley Cooper, Dev Patel, Adriana Lima, Hend Sabri, and Sonam Kapoor— who arrived to the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) wearing their finest threads (Blanchett opted for a blue, sequined gown by Thornton Bregazzi; meanwhile Kapoor wore a pink Viktor & Rolf creation).
Supermodel Karolina Kurkova stunned in a black blazer and matching straight-leg trousers, which she heightened with pointed-toe pumps and extensive body chains. “We’re in Geneva and it’s very cold and very mysterious,” the Czech beauty said to Vogue Arabia’s Caterina Minthe, who was among the 800+ guests.
“I’m so proud to be here as an ambassador, let’s get the party started!” enthused IWC Schaffhausen ambassador Jessica Kahawaty (who opted for a plunging, metallic Saint Laurent number) before guests filed into the enormous Palexpo Hall, which was transformed to resemble a cozy and luxurious Swiss Chalet by way of hanging lights and wooden décor.
Halfway through the gala, Ronan Keating jumped onto the stage to serenade the well-heeled attendees. There were also performances by British singer Paloma Faith and Aloe Blacc, who sang renditions of Stevie Wonder classics, bringing all the guests to their feet. Finally, a drum set descended from the stage and tap dancers suddenly emerged from the right side of the stage to face-off in a tap battle of sorts with jazz drummer Eric Harlan.
After the dinner, the guests moved to a smaller, more intimate room, where they were greeted with waiters carrying trays of delectable chocolate-dipped strawberries and ice cream, to mingle.
