The return of a grander-than-ever Ball of Arabia calls for an enthralling performance, and who better than Kadim Al Sahir to deliver just that? On December 12 at Raffles The Palm Dubai, the Iraqi singer, who is also known as the Caesar of Arabic Song, will serenade guests at the exclusive, invite-only event with a live performance of a few of his best songs that have helped shape the regional music industry.

The performance is set to be one of the artist’s first few in front of a live audience after a gap of two years due to Covid-19 restrictions. As he takes the stage at the after-party, guests are bound to be on their feet, moving to the rhythm of his greatest hits which include ‘Zidini Oshkan’, ‘Madrasat Al Hobb’, and ‘Koll Aam Wa Enti Habibati’. In Al Sahir’s own words, the intimate and one-of-a-kind performance is not one to be forgotten: “In all my work I seek to please the audience by presenting fine music that remains engraved in their memories,” says the artist.

Al Sahir’s relationship with Vogue Arabia goes back to when he fronted the Fall/Winter 2020 issue of Vogue Man Arabia. The 64-year-old opened his residence in Spain to offer a glimpse into his life, and the path that lead him to become one of the most famous singers in the Arab world. To date, he has sold more than 100 million albums and written more than 40 hit songs. “To reach this stage, I relied on a strong foundation,” he shared. “Throughout all these years, I never stopped looking for new ideas and never gave up the oud. I always compose and await the appropriate time to release works.”

The anticipation for Al Sahir’s performance at the Ball of Arabia will only be heightened by a host of immersive experiences in store for the guests. Honoring the Golden Jubilee of UAE, the exclusive red carpet charity event will also allow attendees to indulge in the best of Emirati art, music, and culture, courtesy of the General Women’s Union. The glamorous event will be co-chaired by some of the Arab world’s most renowned: Creative director and top businesswoman Ingie Chalhoub, beauty moguls Huda and Mona Kattan, actor Mona Zaki, and couturier Zuhair Murad.
