A hidden gem, the Saudi Red Sea may just be home to some of the world’s most beautiful marine ecosystems. And to celebrate its splendor, Vogue Arabia threw an unforgettable get-together last night at Yacht Club de Monaco.
Hosted by editor-in-chief Manuel Arnaut and Pauline Ducruet, the soireé was attended by a mix of specially handpicked guests. In attendance were Bertille Toledano, Angelina Usanova, Angela Pearl, Camille Rose Gottlieb, Dasha Yanina, Ginta, Jwana Karim, Mariia Chaplin, Nathalie Paris, Tom Claeren, Sasha Ray, Aliia Roza, Rob Prior, and Patricia Gloria Contreras, among others. While enjoying the views of Monaco and learning more about the wonders of the Saudi Red Sea, guests chatted with Vogue Arabia about all things related to underwater life and travel, from their favorite holiday spots in Saudi Arabia, to the seaside essentials they just can’t do without. The highlight of the evening, of course, was the reveal of Vogue Arabia’s special collaboration cover featuring ocean advocate and supermodel Candice Swanepoel. Shot at the Jeddah Yacht Club and engaging Saudi designers such as Waad Aloqaili and Atelier Hekayat, the cover was revealed side by side with an enchanting video that showed Swanepoel exploring Jeddah’s waters. “There is endless, untapped beauty to the region that I’ve been very privileged to witness and experience,” the model shared. “It’s a comfort that is rarely felt in any other element, and makes the Saudi Red Sea feel like a wonder. I’ve had the privilege of shooting in oceans and seas across the world, but the warmth of the Saudi Red Sea made the entire diving and swimming experience uniquely enjoyable.”
During the course of the evening, Manuel Arnaut and Bertille Toledano also marked the occasion with speeches sharing their thoughts about Saudi Arabia. Looking back on Vogue Arabia’s relationship with the country, Arnaut said, “Professionally, I am proud to say that Vogue Arabia was the first international title to fully focus on the Kingdom starting in July 2013, with an iconic cover featuring HRH Princess Hayfa Bint Abdullah Al Saud driving a red convertible in the desert of Jeddah.” Toledano added, “[Saudi Arabia] is more than a destination, much more than a city… I discovered an untouched and unspoiled land. I discovered a country of heritage, a country of culture.” And clearly, a country of beauty.
