American pop-rock band Imagine Dragons have announced that they will be performing at the Formula E-Prix in Riyadh for the first time ever on November 22. They will be joined by the British born Norwegian DJ Alan Walker who will be the opening act.
This, however, is not their first visit to the Middle East. The boy band has been to Dubai in 2017 when they filmed a video for their famous track ‘Thunder’ which now has over 1 billion views on YouTube. Consisting of lead vocalist Dan Reynolds, lead guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee, and drummer Daniel Platzman, Imagine Dragons are known for their powerful and impactful music throughout the world. The band first gained exposure with the release of their single ‘It’s Time’, followed by their award-winning album Night Visions in 2012, which resulted in the chart-topping singles ‘Radioactive’ and ‘Demons’.
From that point forward, the boys from Las Vegas have been unstoppable. They have won three American Music Awards, one Grammy Award, one MTV Video Music Award, and one World Music Award. In 2014, the band was nominated for 14 Billboard Music Awards, including Top Artist of the Year and a Milestone Award, which recognizes the innovation and creativity of artists across different genres. Not only that but in April 2018, the band was nominated 11 more times for Billboard Music Awards.
They have sold 35 million singles in the USA and 20 million albums worldwide winding up to be the most-streamed band of 2018 on Spotify. The group has performed at events like Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and MTV Europe Music Awards. They have collaborated with other famous artists like Wiz Khalifa, Lil Wayne, Elisa, Kygo, Kendrick Lamar and Khalid to create new tracks.
Imagine Dragon’s most recent drop is their single ‘Birds’ featuring the Italian singer and songwriter Elisa. Other famous collaborative tracks are – Suicide Squad soundtrack ‘Sucker for Pain’ featuring Ty Dolla Sign, Logic, Wiz Khalifa, Lil Wayne, X Ambassadors and Imagine Dragons, and ‘Young Dumb and Broke’ featuring Khalid and Imagine Dragons.
