The internet loves a power couple, and Hollywood has just presented it with a potentially new one: Bradley Cooper and Huma Abedin. After sources reported by Page Six shared that the two are allegedly in a relationship, it didn’t take long for the two to be compared to another unlikely and much-loved couple, George and Amal Clooney. While actors Cooper and Clooney share the same industry, Abedin, like Lebanese barrister Amal Clooney, is not associated with Hollywood and is a high-profile personality in human affairs.

The 46-year-old is of Indian and Pakistani descent, but shares a deep connection with Saudi Arabia, having spent her childhood in Jeddah, where her parents raised her after taking up lecturing jobs. To those who keep up with American politics, Abedin is known as the former and longtime aide of Hillary Clinton, and the vice chair of her 2016 campaign for US President. Before that, Abedin was also deputy chief of staff to Clinton when she was the US Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013. What makes her of the 42nd First Lady’s closest aides is their working relationship of more than two decades, since Abedin first stepped into the White House as a young intern in 1996.
According to reports, she has been dating Cooper “quietly for a few months,” and in another surprising revelation, the two were allegedly set up by Condé Nast global editorial director Anna Wintour, who is close with both of them. Abedin and Cooper also reportedly arrived at the Wintour co-chaired 2022 Met Gala together, and parted ways before the red carpet.

Both of them have had public past relationships, with Cooper sharing a five-year-old daughter with former partner and model Irina Shayk, and Abedin having a 10-year-old son with ex-husband and then-US Representative Anthony Weiner. The alleged couple’s reps are yet to confirm or deny the relationship.
