A day after the opening ceremony, Princess Reema took to Instagram to highlight the work of Alya AlSalmi, the designer who created the outfits for the Saudi team to wear while representing their nation on the world stage. In a shared post, the designer explained, “I chose the patterns of the hem dress in the bright gold color from the eastern region, the ball from the middle region, and the head covering of the majority of the kingdom areas. As for men’s attire, it is the [most] common attire among the men of the kingdom, which is the dress and the turban. White was chosen according to the protocol of Al-Basht worn in Saudi Arabia.” AlSalmi also expressed her appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to Princess Reema for selecting her for the job.
