A number of national channels in the UAE will be airing the much-anticipated History of the Emirates documentary ahead of National Day. Produced by Image Nation Abu Dhabi and Atlantic Production, the series will air from November 24 to November 28 every night from 9 pm. The documentary is divided into five parts featuring the very establishment of the nation’s civilization,  focusing on innovation, belief, unity, society, and trade.

The chairman of Image Nation Abu Dhabi and chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism, Mohammad Al Mubarak said, “We are thrilled to share this spectacular documentary series with the public ahead of the National Day celebrations. At Image Nation Abu Dhabi, we are proud to have captured the country’s remarkable past and amazing present, while revealing a completely unseen civilization to viewers new to the region,”

He added, “Regardless of age, nationality or background, this documentary will appeal to everyone who is curious about our nation and to those who call the UAE home.”

The filming of this short series was done using new technology like 360-degree camera work, high tech drones, light detection and ranging scanning, and common gateway interface scanning. The new world footage is mixed and edited with unseen archival footage. What’s more, a mobile app featuring Virtual Reality along with a digital museum will be released to transport viewers across the desert, and into the sea in the comfort of their home.

Anthony Geffen, the Producer and Creative Director of Atlantic Production, said, “Atlantic Productions was delighted to produce this series and work with so many talented people in the UAE, where we were able to draw on extraordinary new research and experts.

The legendary tale of the past will air on National Geographic Abu Dhabi, MBC1, Dubai One, and Abu Dhabi TV amongst other channels. Citizens of Jordan, Bahrain, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia can also enjoy the documentary on their respective regional channels.
