His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai has launched an online campaign paying tribute to the healthcare workers on the frontlines of the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The campaign video paired with the hashtag #ThankYouHeroes, highlights the hard-work put in by doctors, nurses, paramedics and medical teams under tense circumstances, away from their own families for days and nights at a time, in order to save countless lives. HH Sheikh Mohammed took to social media to express his gratitude, while urging UAE citizens, residents, and visitors to do the same through #ThankYouHeroes.
He wrote, “Thank you to all of those in the first line of defense. Thank you for your sacrifices, sleepless nights, and efforts made for the sake of the nation. You are the true nation protectors and our loyal soldiers. I call on everyone to thank them for their strenuous and sustained efforts being made around the clock. To all doctors, nurses, paramedics and administrators in our health sector, Thank You.”
In a statement, HH Sheikh Mohammed also stressed on the need for UAE residents to aid these healthcare workers by doing their part. He noted, “Every citizen, resident and visitor owe their wellbeing and health to dedicated healthcare workers who are working hard without seeking any recognition in return. The least we can do as a community is to follow safety guidelines, practice social distancing and stay in our homes.”
Over the past few weeks, the UAE government has taken strict and swift measures to help curb the spread of Covid-19 in the country, while urging the residents to stay home. Yesterday, HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, shared a message on his social media asking the residents to “recognize the seriousness of the new reality” and that the coronavirus is a “real threat to each one of us.” He concluded it by saying, “We’re here for you, and trust that we can count on your commitment to act responsibly.”
