Next in Fashion was well-received when it took off in January 2020 with 18 designers competing in weekly challenges for a prize of US $250,000 and a chance to have their collection sold via Net-a-Porter. Fellow Brits France and Chung were much-loved for hitting it off on-screen as hosts, and the new duo is sure to create just as much buzz given their long-term friendship. The announcement of the show’s renewal and its new host was made by France via Instagram through a carousel of pictures of the two. “Who would have thought when we met over Facetime 4 years ago (thanks @evachen212) that we’d be hosting NEXT IN FASHION TOGETHER!” the designer wrote, thanking Instagram’s director of fashion partnership Eva Chen for introducing them. “You read that right! The secret’s out,” he added before leaving details for casting applications.
Former cover star Hadid also put out the casting call for the show on her Instagram, encouraging budding talents to apply. “I know there are so many designers out there that deserve a platform like this,” she wrote. “Second guessing yourself? Please just go for it. This is your sign and your chance. Show us your creations.” While France has had experience with a number of reality shows, Hadid is no stranger to them either as her childhood included being surrounded by cameras for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills starring her mother. She also used her fashion knowledge as a guest judge on the current season of Project Runway.
