Gigi Hadid has shared another insight into her life as a mother to her and former partner Zayn Malik‘s daughter, Khai. In an interview with WSJ Magazine, the part-Palestinian model talked about her typical day, and how her mornings begin with her two-year-old.

“Whatever time she’s [Khai] waking up, I’m waking up,” Hadid said, adding that it is usually between 7:30 and 8:30am. “I have a very mom morning routine.” The 27-year-old shared that she eats whatever Khai is eating, and that she makes her pancakes and sausages every day. “For Christmas, she asked me what I was going to ask Santa for and so I said I wanted a new pancake pan. I ordered myself, via Santa, this cool cake pan,” she said. “Each little circle pancake is a different animal, so she can have lion pancakes or llama pancakes,” the model adds. “It’s really fun.”

When it comes to her schedule, the two-time Vogue Arabia cover star manages her time and projects herself so she can maximize her time spent with Khai. “I have to handwrite my schedule,” Hadid reveals. “If I’m good at something, it’s organization, scheduling, and making sure that all of my different projects are getting time. That also helps me give a lot of time to Khai.” The model goes on to admit that the way she pens down her schedule is “janky”, and can even end up writing it on Khai’s craft paper. “This month it’s [on] a yellow piece of paper,” she shares. “And it’s literally a square calendar with six lines to make seven days. I take a picture on my phone, and I edit through the month then I’ll do all the edits and rewrite it the next month.” The model also counts “running after my 2-year-old” among her exercise routine. “We walk a lot. We do yoga together. With lifting her and running around all day and going to the park, I get moving,” she says.

Hadid gave birth to Khai in September 2020, and has since been open about motherhood while protecting her daughter’s privacy on social media. The top model recently launched her debut clothing and knitwear line, Guest in Residence, and is scheduled to appear on Season 2 of Netflix’s Next in Fashion as co-host and judge.
