Gigi Hadid‘s relationship with fame goes way back. The Palestinian-Dutch model has been in the public eye from a young age, having posed for her first campaign as a toddler, and going on to become one of the most recognized faces in fashion. In a recent interview with Elle, Hadid revealed just how challenging this journey has been and that she has been reimagining her life as of late.

When asked about what the public may not know about her, the model couldn’t help but get teary-eyed. “What does the world not know about me? I don’t know. I’m getting emotional,” she shared. “I think that I’m someone who you have to be in front of to experience. It’s not hard. This isn’t a complaint. It’s more that in my job, you see a lot of snapshots.”

Hadid also opened up about how her daughter Khai has inspired her to self-reflect. While modeling is something she has always enjoyed, motherhood paired with the Covid-19 lockdown made her realize that she wanted more stability in life, which led her to launch her own brand, Guest in Residence, she reveals. The business has allowed her to slow down a little as he settles into a more consistent routine. “This is very stabilizing. I have an office that I come to. I know everyone here. I don’t have to look a certain way to show up,” she remarked while talking about this change in her life. Guest in Residence also presents her with a chance to build on everything she has learned from mentors such as Donatella Versace and Tommy Hilfiger.

Hadid is also looking forward to the release of Next in Fashion Season 2 on March 3. She will be hosting this season along with Tan France who is a close friend. The reality show is going to be her first extended on-camera experience and has given her the chance to finally reveal a different side of her personality. “People say I’m funny. I don’t know, but I think that the more time I’m given, then the more I’m able to be goofy,” Hadid said about her experience shooting the show. This is no longer a snapshot of her life but will allow people to get to know her a little more intimately, something she seems to be very excited about.
