Expecting her first child with British-Pakistani singer Zayn Malik, Gigi Hadid is due to give birth very soon. The Palestinian-Dutch model recently revealed a maternity photoshoot featuring her baby bump captured by fashion photographers Luigi and Iango. While the pictures themselves were stunning enough to nearly break the internet, fans were quick to get excited about the caption which said that she had been 33-weeks pregnant at the time.
Since Hadid had also revealed the photoshoot’s date to be July 26, and taking into account the 40-week period of a typical pregnancy, it means that the model is currently around 38-weeks pregnant and ready to welcome the baby any day now. For the majority of her pregnancy, the 25-year-old kept the details on the down-low, and also went on to share the reason why in an Instagram Live in July.
“Obviously, I think a lot of people are confused why I’m not sharing more but like, I’m pregnant through a pandemic, like obviously my pregnancy is not the most important thing going on in the world,” the model said. Adding: “I have been taking a lot of pictures of my bump and sending it to friends and family and it’s been very cute and exciting and I’m trying to document it well because I’ve heard a lot of people say, obviously, make sure you don’t miss it.”
The past couple of weeks have also seen the model share a few more details from what went on behind-the-scenes of the maternity photoshoot. On Twitter, Hadid revealed that she “loved” shooting while being pregnant when a fan tweeted her asking how she found the experience. “I loved it,” wrote Hadid responding to the fan. Adding: “I knew what I wanted from the pics and Gab [Gabriella Karefa-Johnson] and L&I [Luigi and Iango] really made it happen for me. But [it] was definitely more tiring than working normally. Got through the second look [I] was like ‘guys I think I can only do two more’ hahaaaa”.
