Emirati Dagger Programme, until December 28

Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism introduced “The Dagger Program” for the first time ever this year allowing cultural enthusiasts to learn the secrets to making a good dagger, information about the correct equipment and material used, and how to wear it. All the participants will also be acquainted with inscriptions of daggers owned by UAE’s ruling families.

Classic Cars Exhibition At Qasr Al Hosn, until December 30

Classic Cars Exhibition is another event hosted by Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism which displays classic cars developed in the early-mid-20s. This year’s exhibition features 21 cars from the 1950s and 1960s. The exhibition shows the transition from the old age to modern vehicles used mostly by everyone.

Movie Night at Dukes The Palm, every Thursday

Head to 14th Steakhouse at Dukes The Palm every Thursday for their weekly alfresco movie night by the tranquility of the water. There are bean bags provided by the venue, along with a snack bar where everyone can order comfort food like pizzas, popcorns and a range of barbeque dishes.

Kite Beach Yoga Class, every Saturday

Start Saturday mornings right by making your way down to Dubai’s famous Kite Beach for a free one-hour yoga class with Sole Mio. As a rewarding gift to the community, Sole Mio organizes free yoga classes for residents and passers-by. It is the perfect opportunity for everyone to keep fit, and mingle with new people from the neighborhood.

Al-Ain Palace Museum Cultural Programmes, Until April 22, 2020

Al-Ain Palace showcases the everyday life in a ruler’s fort when the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE, and his family dwelled in the royal residence before 1966. The Bedouin-style architecture dates back to 1937 and was renovated into an exhibition hall in 1998 as a fundamental social and vacation spot. Numerous social activities take place in the historical center, Al Jahili Fort and beyond which offer a wide exhibit of occasions and exercises for everybody to enjoy.

Camel Racing at Al Marmoom, January 7-8, 2020

Camel racing has been an integral part of the UAE’s rich heritage and at this upcoming event, visitors can expect sheer excitement as a group of approximately 60 camels race their way to the finish line. After the race, tourists and residents can also visit the nearby Al Marmoon Heritage Village for a truly authentic experience.

Emirates Travellers Festival, December 18-21, 2019

Known for being the world’s largest gathering of travelers and explorers, Emirates Travellers Festival is a chance for locals and tourists to come together to share inspiring stories of adventure. Inspired by the Emirati way of storytelling, this year’s event is set to take place at Munshrif Park where attendees can expect to hear epic tales, film screenings, and exhibitions of travel photography.

Dubai Kitesurf Competition, January 10

The annual Kitesurf competition sees participants move over the surface of water using a parachute-like kite to gather speed. Take in the spectacle by grabbing a shoreline seat at Nessnass Beach behind Sunset Mall.
