Evidence of vaccination or a negative PCR test will now be required for individuals aged 18 and above visiting the Expo 2020. According to the latest announcement by officials, visitors must be vaccinated with any vaccine recognized by their national government. The PCR test must be done within the previous 72 hours.

Non-vaccinated visitors who have not been tested can also avail of the PCR testing facility adjacent to the venue, with the test being free of charge on presenting a valid ticket, or a 1 Day or Multi-Day Pass to the event. A list of city-wide testing centers will be soon made available on the Expo 2020 Dubai website.

Her Excellency Reem Bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director-General of Expo 2020 Dubai stated, “The UAE continues to drive the global tourism recovery, and Expo 2020 Dubai will be the only global gathering of this size and cultural diversity since the start of Covid-19. By updating our vaccination and testing requirements, we are opening up a world of discovery and education for every visitor from every corner of the planet, enabling the world to experience Expo 2020’s incredible offering in a safe and secure manner.”

The measures are in line with the UAE’s Covid-19 guidelines, including testing programs for those in transit. The Covid-19 guidelines for Expo 2020 also include mandatory vaccination of all staff, contractors, and service staff, along with onsite sanitization stations, social distancing measures, and mandatory face – mask requirements.
