Félicitations, Emily in Paris fans! Netflix’s comedy starring Lily Collins as everyone’s favorite American social media maven living in Paris has been renewed for season three. And season four.

Yes, you read that right. Emily in Paris is so popular for the streaming platform that it has been renewed for not just one but two additional seasons by Netflix. Maybe by the time season four comes out I’ll be fluent in French? Anyway, check out Netflix’s major announcement below:

Lily Collins also took to Instagram to announce the news, and aside from needing to know whether Emily is going to stay in Paris and work for Sylvie’s new company or return to Chicago, we need to know where to get this T-shirt.

There’s lots to look forward to in the new season—aside from incredible costumes, stunning locales, and hot men: mainly Emily’s decision about her future. In the season two finale (warning: spoilers ahead!), Sylvie resigned from Savoir and started her own marketing firm, taking Luc and Julien with her. She offered Emily a position as well, which would mean that Emily would stay in Paris longer than she anticipated. (That would normally sound amazing, except that when Emily went to tell Gabriel how she really felt about him, she discovered he had already gotten back together with Camille and they’d moved in together). So will she go back to Chicago and start anew, or take a leap of faith in the city that she has learned to call her own?

When we spoke to Darren Star, he said, “I have an idea what Emily’s decision is. The thing about this decision is there’s no right decision here. There’s no one decision that’s going to make everybody happy or that’s even going to make Emily happy. She has some tough choices, and she’s put in the middle of a lot of sticky situations at the end of the season.”

Emily in Paris premiered in October 2020 and instantly became a hit. Whether you loved it, hated it, or hated it so much you loved it despite yourself, the visually pleasing series from Darren Star about a 20-something American who moves to Paris for work has really stuck with people. Season two of Emily in Paris dropped on Netflix in December 2021 and continued to be a massive hit for the streaming service as Emily continued her Parisian adventures, got wrapped up in a love triangle, and met a new man in French class.

In a press statement released in May 2021, Netflix revealed that Emily in Paris had been viewed by 58 million households during its first 28 days on the streaming platform, making it Netflix’s most popular comedy series of 2020. So basically what Netflix is trying to say is: This show is très populaire.

Here’s everything we know from the Emily in Paris seasons three and four so far:

Emily in Paris will return for a third and a fourth season.

On Monday, January 10, 2021, Netflix announced the comedy series was renewed by the streaming service for not one but two seasons.

When will the new season begin filming?

There are no details just yet, but season three will most likely start filming later this year. There’s also a chance Netflix might film seasons three and four back to back. We’ll keep you posted when production begins.

When will season three and four premiere on Netflix?

Based on when the first two seasons have premiered on Netflix, you can probably expect the third season to arrive in late 2022 or early 2023, and the fourth season to arrive in late 2023.

Will Emily take Sylvie’s job offer?

Darren Star told Glamour that he’s already been thinking about what’s next for Emily, noting that he has an idea what she will decide after Sylvie made her an offer to work for her and stay in Paris when season three returns. “There’s no right decision here. There’s no one decision that’s going to make everybody happy or that’s even going to make Emily happy,” Star tells us. “She has some tough choices, and she’s put in the middle of a lot of sticky situations at the end of the season.”

Will we meet Sylvie’s family?

“Absolutely,” Star tells Glamour about meeting more of Sylvie’s loved ones. “It’s something we might hear more about in future seasons. We don’t find out everything about Sylvie all at once. She’s like an onion or an artichoke. There’s a lot of layers to peel.”

It’’s not the end of Alfie and Emily, right?

At the end of season two, Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) revealed that he wanted to go all in with Emily, but she wasn’t really feeling the same way. So what’s the deal moving forward? “This does not mean the end of Alfie,” Star told us. “What’s happened with Emily does not mean the end of Alfie. Sometimes you look at a relationship that you think is the one, and you realize that the one might be someone else. So I don’t believe that…certainly, for me, the door is open for Emily and Alfie.”

What about a Kim Cattrall appearance?

Fans have been calling for Cattrall to make an appearance on the show ever since it was revealed that her Sex and the City character, Samantha Jones, had relocated to London. We know that Star and former SATC costume designer Patricia Field (and current Emily in Paris co-costume designer) are close to Cattrall, so let’s just say it’s not out of the realm of possibilities.
