With Eid Al-Fitr 2024 just around the corner, a week-long holiday for the UAE’s public sector has been announced.
The public sector in the UAE will enjoy a week-long holiday for Eid Al-Fitr 2024, as authorities have confirmed both, the start and end dates for the break. According to the UAE Cabinet, federal government employees in the country will be given paid leave starting Monday, April 8 to Sunday, April 14. Combined with the Saturdays and Sundays on either side of the break, public sector employees will have a holiday of nine days in total, with work resuming on Monday, April 15.
While the holiday dates have been assigned, the official Eid Al-Fitr 2024 dates are yet to be confirmed, given that they will only be announced once the moon has been sighted in the country. The announcement of the Eid break for the private sector is also to follow, with private and public employees usually allotted the same number of holiday dates per year. There’s a lot to do over the Eid break in the UAE, for those who are not traveling. Some of the exciting concerts taking place over the week include shows by Googoosh, Mohamed Ramadan, Rema, and Saad Lamjarred. As per tradition, brilliant fireworks displays will also light up a number of hotspots around the country.
