If the Dubai Fountain is an attraction on your UAE bucket list, then we have some rather good news for you – the city is set to welcome another aquatic spectacle. A choreographed dancing fountain will be created at new Palm Jumeirah destination, The Pointe, developers have revealed. The SAR/AED 66 million extravaganza is being created by Chinese specialists Beijing Water Design, and promises quite the view, according to a teaser video.

When complete, the dancing fountain will cover a 12,000-square-meter area of water at the tip of the island, across the bay from Atlantis The Palm. It will form the centerpiece of The Pointe, a SAR/AED 800 million dining and entertainment destination being constructed on the manmade archipelago.

All together, the spot will feature nearly 70 restaurants, shops and attractions, along with a cinema, children’s play area, supermarket, gyms, and beauty salons. The Pointe will also house a lengthy promenade for oceanfront strolls, as well as its own monorail station. The mall is set to open towards the end of 2018, according to officials, although no date has been set for the launch of the fountains.

The water display will join the Dubai Fountain as one of the city’s main attractions. Located in the Burj Khalifa Lake in Downtown Dubai, the latter is currently the world’s largest choreographed fountain system, capable of shooting jets of water up to 500 feet in the air. It was designed by the company behind the Bellagio Hotel’s fountains in Las Vegas, and is animated by music and lights throughout its daily performances.
