Dubai Design District (D3) will once again come to life with artworks and installations by regional and international talent with the eighth edition of Dubai Design Week. Taking place in D3 from November 8-13 under the patronage of HH Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairperson of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, and member of the Dubai Council, the annual event will focus on a sustainable future.
The message, ‘Design With Impact’ will make its way across all programs of the week-long event including the flagship fair Downtown Design, and its many talks and workshops. As for the highlight of Dubai Design Week, the installations will be peppered around the site in 30 large-scale forms and will be made using innovative materials like discarded shellfish and orange waste. Exhibitions held during the week will discuss a range of topics including how Metaverse technology is pushing the boundaries of design, alongside highlighting works from local designers. Parallel to Design Week, D3 will play host to another annual event, the Architecture Exhibition, from November 8-13 with this year’s edition featuring the work of d3-based regional and international architects, installations, and architect collaborations.

Taking place at D3’s Waterfront Terrace from November 9-12, Downtown Design will feature its most extensive lineup to date with participation from over 200 regional and international brands, designers, and speakers. Engaging panel discussions will also offer visitors the opportunity to meet design professionals at the Forum at Downtown Design which will see leading international and regional experts discuss the latest in the industry. What’s more, a series of workshops will also be hosted throughout the week, providing participants of all ages the chance to learn from professionals and professors of world-renowned institutions.
In another first for Dubai Design Week, the D3 Design Market by FLTRD will take place across the week this year. Founded by Zeina Ladki, FLTRD is the ideal platform to discover Arab talent. Vistors can expect a retail experience with a range of homegrown offerings from homeware to ready-to-wear. This year, the market will also extend to the weekend when it will showcase the best of local artisanal products.
“We are proud to present the eighth edition of Dubai Design Week, which is set to be – once again – a very exciting highlight of Dubai’s autumn calendar,” states Khadija Al Bastaki, vice president of D3. “We look forward to bringing the design and creative community together to engage, connect, and be inspired by the ideas, talents, and artisans presented across installations, exhibitions, talks, workshops, the Downtown Design fair, and the market. In addition, we look forward to giving incredible talent from the UAE, region, and wider world a platform for their work to be showcased and celebrated.”
