You can now explore Al Shindagha Museum with the help of a new interactive experience. Dubai Culture’s latest initiative coincides with the opening of Expo 2020 Dubai and aims to improve the knowledge of residents and visitors about the emirate’s cultural offerings.
In partnership with start-up Secret City Trails, the experiences named Dubai Cultural Treasures Discovery Trails consists of puzzles, stories about the UAE’s history and culture, and riddles for users as they move through the Al Shindagha Neighborhood. It will also quiz users about the area, and direct them to previously unexplored parts. Users can access it from their smartphones and share it with five people or use it individually.
Maryam Mudhaffar Ahli, project manager at the Museums Department at Dubai Culture, shared, “At Dubai Culture, we are keen to engage with the public through exploring the rich cultural stories that Dubai holds among its neighborhoods by stimulating the active participation of the general public and activating partnerships with the public and private sectors. As the Authority is the Official Culture Supporter of Expo 2020 Dubai, this initiative comes within the interactive events and activities that we have prepared to enrich the experience of Expo visitors in line with our vision to strengthen Dubai’s position as a global center for culture, an incubator for creativity, and a thriving hub for talent.”
The initiative was launched in partnership with Secret City Trails, as well the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Dubai (Dubai Tourism). Secret City Trails is a start-up based in Lisbon that primarily focuses on creating fun and interactive games that encourage users to step outside and explore their cities.
