In exciting news, Kosovan-British hitmaker Dua Lipa is returning to the UAE for a gig. The New Rules singer is all set to headline The Pointe’s second-ever concert on Friday, November 15 on Dubai‘s Palm Jumeirah. Latin singer Enrique Iglesias headlined the first concert in December 2018.
At the concert next month, fans of the 24-year-old superstar can expect to dance and sing along to her chart-friendly tunes like IDGAF, Hotter Than Hell, and Be The One. This will be Lipa’s third time coming to the UAE for a concert. Last November the singer was slated to perform at the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s first anniversary, but the show had to be canceled due to bad weather caused by a rainstorm. To console her fans at that time, Dua Lipa wrote on Twitter, “I really wanted to sing and dance for you. Hopefully I will be back very soon.”
The British singer’s career commenced at the age of 14 when she would post covers of famous songs on Youtube. Fast forward to 2017, when the UK-based singer released her first eponymous album featuring hit track New Rules, which was ranked the number-one single in the region and number six in the US. As she climbed the ladder of fame, Lipa bagged every music award and nomination. The list includes three Brit Awards for British Female Solo Artist, British Breakthrough Act, and British Single of the Year, two Grammy’s for Best Artist and Dance Recording, along with two MTV Europe Music Awards for Best New Act and Best Pop Artist.
As talented as she is, with 34 awards and 80 nominations, Lipa is rumored to be dating Anwar Hadid. While the adorable couple hasn’t confirmed the news, they both have made several public appearances together. The British pop star and Hadid, younger brother of supermodels Gigi and Bella, also made a coordinated entrance at the Marc Jacobs Spring 2020 show during New York Fashion Week.
