The Earl and Countess of Carnarvon are giving fans of the hit British TV show Downton Abbey an exclusive chance to spend one evening in the Highclere Castle – where the series was filmed.

However, there’s a catch. From the millions of fans, only two guests will get to live like a Lord or Lady at the Downton Abbey castle, which is now listed on Airbnb.

The lucky guests will be treated like royalty. Upon arrival, the Lord and Lady Carnarvon will greet their guests, and then the castle’s butler will walk you into one of the 300 regal rooms available at the estate.

During the stay, the chosen pair will enjoy an exclusive evening drinking select beverages in the saloon, followed by a unique and traditional dinner with the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon in the state dining room. After the regal dinner, the guests can head to the library for coffee before returning to one of the gallery bedrooms.

The lucky pair will wake up to exceptional morning views facing over 1,000 acres of rolling parkland. Before ending the once-in-a-lifetime staycation, visitors will be taken on a private tour around the 100,000 square-feet castle before indulging in a royal breakfast.

What’s more, the Lord and Lady Carnarvon will generously gift their guests a unique present to always remember the night in Highclere Castle.

The rules for the stay include: All newspapers must be ironed; strictly one butler per guest; a cocktail dress code for dinner; and no gossip except in the downstairs quarters. The listing is for midweek “because after all — ‘What is a weekend?'”

Lady Carnarvon, the Airbnb host, comments: “It’s an absolute privilege and pleasure to call Highclere Castle my home and I am delighted to be able to share it on Airbnb for a truly unique stay. Highclere Castle has been in the Carnarvon family since 1679 and has an incredibly rich history. I am passionate about the stories and heritage of Highclere Castle, and I am looking forward to welcoming our future guests.”

Over the years, the castle has been used as a location for many films, TV shows and music videos, including John Legend’s 2006 hit Heaven. Nevertheless, the property was mostly famed for being the home of the Crawley family in Downton Abbey – the show that ran between 2010 and 2015.

The Downton Abbey set will be available to book for a one night stay on November 26, and reservations will go live on October 1 at 3pm (GMT+4). Interested guests can make their bookings on Airbnb, and they must have a verified profile, positive reviews, along with a passion for Downton Abbey. As the 17th-century castle opens its doors, Airbnb will also be donating to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, to mark this iconic event.
