Dubai’s premier fresh food market, the Waterfront Market, celebrates Diwali this year with a wide range of activities to mark the occasion from Thursday October 28, to Friday November 5. The Diwali-themed pop-up market will be selling traditional Indian sweets, ensembles and accessories for those in the mood to shop.

One can also expect to see rangoli artists showcasing their colorful work along with Bollywood dances and Punjabi Bhangra throughout the week.  Diwali-themed art and craft workshops will be offered to those interested in learning how to make diyas (traditional Indian earthen candles), among other things.

Catch those Fireworks

Head to Bluewaters Dubai on Thursday, November 4, to be dazzled by the 8.30pm fireworks next to the largest observation wheel in the world, Al Ain. While there, also check out the live street festival pop-up from November 4-6. Alternatively, Dubai Festival City Mall will be hosting fireworks at 9.30pm on the mall’s waterside, and will offer a range of  family-friendly activities and bites at Ripe by the Bay.
