Bringing the fun directly to your screens this weekend, Dubai Opera will be hosting an online show with a stellar lineup of artists. Ali Al Sayed and Mina Liccione are two Dubai-based comedians who have joined forces with Dubai Opera to create the special interactive variety show which will be available to stream on Saturday, April 18 on the venue’s Instagram account. Expect to see “comedy antics, performances by special guest musicians and a surprise Broadway finale,” said the event announcement.
Known as “UAE’s Queen of Comedy,” Liccione has been seen on MTV, Broadway, Cirque, BBC, MBC and currently stars on all 3 seasons of “Comedy Central Presents…” and Season 2 of Ridiculousness. She is also famed for being a part of Stomp on Broadway and for being the first female comedian in the MENA region to film a one-hour stand-up comedy special titled Araby by Nature in 2017. Al Sayed’s talent for delivering quality stand-ups has earned him a place on Comedy Central, BBC as well as the Arab-American Comedy Festival. He is also known for performing, as well as co-producing the first weekly Comedy and Variety Night in the UAE titled Monday Night Funnies.
The special guest performances will include one by award-winning Iris musician Paddyman, and another by juggler Luis Malabara who has been the winner of Spain’s Got Talent.
The variety show forms a part of the series of live shows being hosted by Dubai Opera to entertain the people of UAE while they stay home. The series began on April 9 with a performance from Syrian violinist Mohamed Hamami, while Lebanese composer and pianist Guy Manoukian performed on April 11. Palestinian singer Omar Kamal also known as ‘Arab Frank Sinatra’ for his rich voice will also be giving a virtual performance tonight, April 15,
