Although the 2020 Cannes Film Festival was canceled due to the global coronavirus pandemic, Chopard is bringing the sophisticated glamor of the French Riviera to your living room this year with the first-ever live, interactive virtual charity gala “Cannes Comes Home”.

As one of the most prestigious events on the cinema circuit, the weeklong Cannes Film Festival is accustomed to welcoming a star-studded guest list in an enchanting array of red carpet screenings and evening receptions unlike any other. With Chopard being an official partner of the annual spectacle, the luxury jewelry brand decided to channel the “emotion, laughter, and spirit” that often characterizes the coveted calendar event into a ticketed online special that anyone is welcome to attend on June 21.

Organized under the mission to “Do Good, Feel Good”, proceeds from the gala will be donated to two non-profits dedicated to providing relief efforts for those on the pandemic frontlines: amfAR’s dedicated Fund to Fight Covid-19 and the International Committee Of The Red Cross, which supports the world’s poorest and hardest-hit areas.

Co-hosted by Chopard co-president and artistic director Caroline Scheufele and internationally renowned artist DJ Cassidy, the digital at-home gala will feature an evening of live music, performances, and special appearances by the who’s who of entertainment, from a longtime friend of the house Sonam Kapoor and verified serenader Lionel Richie to former Vogue Arabia cover stars Adriana Lima and Eva Herzigova. To top off this interactive extravaganza, a live auction will also be underway with three unique Chopard creations, artwork by French street artist Mr. Brainwash, and a surprise lot by Julio Iglesias up for offer.

“In these very challenging times, my aim is to bring friends of Chopard from all over the world together in a different way, to reconnect, with the purpose to raise funds for the fight against Covid 19,” shared Scheufele. “Music is always a good remedy for the heart and the soul, an easy way to share happiness and good vibes, so I hope it will make people even more generous.”

In anticipation of the exclusive live show, Chopard will help guests recreate the entire Cannes experience with custom hors d’oeuvres recipes from acclaimed chefs, “Cozy Glamor” dress-code inspiration from top stylists, and energizing pre-party playlists from DJ Cassidy.

As a special treat, Scheufele will also cap off the evening with the first unveiling of Chopard’s newest Red Carpet Collection—the Haute Joaillerie masterpieces that often adorn the world’s biggest stars on the infamous red-carpeted steps of the Palais des Festivals.

While the world continues to grapple with the consequences of one of the direst public health crises throughout history, now is the time for the creative community to join together in solidarity and inspire new solutions for helping those less fortunate in order for humanity as a whole to overcome this pandemic once and for all.

“At this time of global crisis, the values of solidarity, compassion and humanity are more important than ever,” said ICRC general director Robert Mardini in a statement. “To the House Chopard who organized this extraordinary Gala and to the generous participants, a heartfelt thank you on behalf of the entire ICRC. Your generosity will go a long way to helping some of the most vulnerable people on the planet.”
