Since the rise of the 2000s aesthetic and the #FreeBritney campaign dominating trends worldwide, the world is once again focused on Britney Spears. Her freedom from a brutal and years-long conservatorship was celebrated across social media with many voicing their concern and sympathies for the pop star. From being trapped in a legal battle to very public meltdowns, Spears has been through a lot, to say the least. Yet, the 41-year-old continues to possess a rare spirit of strength and optimism as evidenced by a recent Instagram post.

Days after a release date was confirmed for her long-awaited memoir,  Spears shared an endearing video on Instagram with her friend as the two conversed about planets and rocks they found on the beach. The caption revealed how she thinks people might react to her book, The Woman in Me.

“The ocean always awakens my inner child and that’s the biggest challenge for me to keep as I wrote the book the woman in me !!! The world can make you bitter hard and cold,” she wrote. “After reading the book, most would probably say she should be the meanest woman alive after what she’s been through and that’s just it !!! I should be !!! I’m sorry but after all of it although it’s thin as hell I’ve learned make peace with it and in each given moment I’m in even though things may be completely wrong I surrender to silliness !!! I don’t want to be a self-entitled person who takes myself too seriously !!! My life has not been easy but on the flip side I do know I’m loved.”

With the book releasing on October 24, fans will be eagerly waiting to understand just how Spears navigated everything. The synopsis of the book reads, “In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice — her truth — was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman In Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey — and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history. Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love — and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.”
