This Historic Movie About a Saudi King is All Set to Premiere in the Kingdom

Set in 1919, Born A King is a true story about the childhood of King Faisal bin Abdul Aziz, who was the King of Saudi Arabia from 1964 to 1975. The production was completed in 3 years, and it was filmed in different locations, including the UK and Riyadh.

The plot follows a 13-year-old Saudi Prince who is sent to Britain on a political mission to protect the formation of his country, on behalf of his father King Abdul Aziz.

The trailer tells us more about the movie – the challenges faced by Prince Faisal, his negotiations with the Royals, and his subtle sense of humor amongst significant figures, including George V, Lord Curzon, and Winston Churchill.

The movie is directed by Spanish star Agusti Villaronga, and Prince Faisal is played by an up-and-coming Saudi actor Abdullah Ali. The movie is written by Saudi writer Bader al Samari as well as Henry Fitzherbert and Ray Loriga.

With the country’s recent breakthrough expansion of the entertainment industry, the movie is all set to release in Saudi Arabia by September 2019.
