Lisa from Blackpink is the latest star to join the cast of the highly-anticipated Season 3 of The White Lotus.
Lisa, who is a part of the much-loved South Korean girl group Blackpink, has been announced as the newest member of The White Lotus Season 3 cast, according to Variety. The Thai rapper and singer will be credited under her full name—Lisa Manobal—for her role, which is still under wraps just like all other castings for the popular HBO series. The 26-year-old’s addition to the new season makes sense seeing as it will be set in and around Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok, Thailand. Filming of Season 3 of The White Lotus is scheduled to begin in February following delays from the Sag-Aftra strike, while the release is expected to take place sometime in 2025.

The White Lotus S3 will mark the acting debut for Lisa, who is now the second member of Blackpink to appear in an HBO series. Fellow singer Jennie (credited as Jennie Ruby Jane) was the first to make her own acting debut in the infamous The Idol series in June 2023, alongside The Weeknd and Lily Rose-Depp. The acting jobs are some of the newest ventures for the members of Blackpink (consisting of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa) since they renewed their contract with agency YG only for group activities and not individual commitments. These include Jennie launching her own record label Odd Atelier, Lisa founding her management company Lloud Co., and Jisoo reportedly joining her brother’s agency.
The White Lotus is easily one of the most anticipated post-Sag-Aftra strike series. Speaking to EW recently, series creator Mike White hinted at a “longer, bigger, crazier” season. “It’s going to be a supersized White Lotus,’” he said. “It’s going to be longer, bigger, crazier. I don’t know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that’s a good thing … I’m super excited about the content of the season.”
