Beyoncé Had Two Back-to-Back Destiny’s Child Reunions This Month

Beyoncé had a reunion with Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams not once, but twice this month.

The singers from the iconic 90s girl group made joint appearances on two special occasions in January, where they also gave private performances in an intimate setting. Earlier this month, Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles took to Instagram to share a video talking about how the Destiny’s Child members sang for her on her 70th birthday on January 4. “I just got spoiled to death this weekend. I even got serenaded by Destiny’s Child. How amazing is that?” she said in the video. “So I just want to thank everyone who sent me flowers, everyone that told me a happy birthday. I got so many well wishes.”

More recently, Beyoncé and Williams also attended a party celebrating the 50th birthday of Tim Weatherspoon, Rowland’s husband. For the occasion, Beyoncé opted for a sculptural Schiaparelli black and gold look from the house’s Fall/Winter 2022 ready-to-wear collection. Pictures shared by Rowland with her 16.2 million followers show her singing at the party—presumably to Weatherspoon—alongside Beyoncé and Williams.

The trio are not the only members of Destiny’s Child to have a reunion. Last year, the original members of the Grammy-winning group including LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett came together during one of Beyoncé’s shows on her Renaissance World Tour and later shared a picture of the five backstage. “This was hands down my favorite moment of 2023…may we all experience beautiful moments like this in 2024,” Luckett wrote. Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour film also saw the singer open up about the reunion in Washington, D.C., which marked the first time the members were spotted together. “It was like a new birth for us, and a lot of healing,” she said.

Could Beyoncé usher in an official Destiny’s Child reunion? Only time will tell.
