With this year’s spooky season came scents of pumpkin spice, a slow return of pandemic-safe parties, and celebrities offering their attempts at internet-breaking Halloween costumes. It was a weekend that saw stars channel romance, creativity, and nostalgia with references from fictional characters, throwbacks, and trending memes.
Showcasing impressive prosthetics, Lizzo and Ariana Grande transformed themselves into Baby Yoda and The Creature from the Black Lagoon respectively. Harry Styles invited his fans to show up in a costume to his “Harryween” concert at Madison Square Garden and appeared in a Wizard of Oz ensemble by Gucci. Meanwhile, Hailey Bieber commemorated the first-ever concert she has been to with Britney Spears’ ‘Baby One More Time’ student outfit. Closer to home, Lebanese influencer Karen Wazen managed to coordinate her family of five in life with the show Addams Family. Her husband, Elias Bakhazi wore a striped suit with a middle part, while Wazen paired her long black dress with a pale skin look, and their kids sported black braided wigs and a poker face. Dubai-based makeup artist Hindash wore a one-piece suit based on the shape-shifting extraterrestrial anti-hero from the new Marvel film Venom.
