In case you needed a reason to believe that true love exists, look no further than George and Amal Clooney (née Alamuddin). The Lebanese human rights lawyer met, fell in love, got engaged, and married all in the course of one year and two months. “I thought she was beautiful, and I thought she was funny and obviously smart,” George told American Vogue of how they met. “I don’t know [what she thought of me]. She probably thought I was old. Then she sent some pictures from when she was here, and we were writing each other, emailing, talking, mostly about what was going on in each other’s lives, and over a period of time it became clear we were more than just friends.” The couple got married in a secret Venice wedding in 2014 (the bride wore Oscar de la Renta). After two and a half years of marriage, the couple welcomed twins, a boy and a girl, named Alexander and Ella.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and Prince Harry
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s love story is one for the ages. The couple first met on a blind date set up by Markle’s friend, before taking a trip to Botswana where their relationship really blossomed. “We were really by ourselves, which was crucial to me to make sure that we had a chance to get to know each other. We camped out with each other, under the stars. She came and joined me for five days out there, which was absolutely fantastic,” Prince Harry said in the couple’s first TV interview following the news of their engagement. The newly-christened Duke and Duchess of Sussex went on to tie the knot in a special royal ceremony surrounded by family and A-list friends in May. So smitten of his wife, Prince Harry relinquished his royal titles and duties, and moved to North Canada with Markle and their son, Archie. “It brings me great sadness that it has come to this,” Harry told supporters. “The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back, is not one I made lightly. I know I haven’t always gotten it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option.”

Queen Rania and King Abdullah II
When it comes to regal romances, we’ve long had a soft spot for HM Queen Rania and King Abdullah II. The Jordanian royals tied the knot more than 25 years ago on June 10, 1993. The pair, who share four children, first met at a dinner party in 1992, before announcing their engagement six months later. “He had such a great smile and such infectious energy, we got on really well. And the rest, as they say, is history,” said Queen Rania of their first meeting. The then-Rania al-Yassin wed then-Prince of Jordan, Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, at Zahran Palace in Amman. On a recent anniversary, Queen Rania revealed she “still feels like the luckiest woman in the world”.

The Beckhams are basically fashion royalty as far as celebrity couples are concerned. Having been married for 20 years, David and Victoria Beckham have cemented themselves as a dynamic power duo. Mrs. Beckham is the founder of her own eponymous womenswear label, and has recently launched a namesake cosmetics collection in collaboration with Estée Lauder. Along with being one of the most recognized (former) footballers, David Beckham’s name extends past the soccer field (from which he retired). The athlete—who first paved his way as a trendsetter with unique hairstyles featuring braids and mohawks—boasts an impressive resume; one that includes magazine covers and lucrative endorsements. Together, the former Spice Girl and Manchester United player, who met at the club, have four kids, Romeo, Brooklyn, Harper, and Cruz.
