Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are doing their best to stay friends amid their divorce, apparently for the sake of their kids (though both parties are parents from previous relationships, they share no children).

“They want to show the kids that things are amicable,” a source told People, adding, “They want to stay friendly. There’s still a lot of love.” The insider added that, despite getting lunch together, Affleck and Lopez “are still moving forward with the divorce” as they “continue to focus on the kids.”
This is almost exactly what a source told the same outlet right after Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were spotted with their kids having lunch. “They all came together for a fun lunch so the kids could hang out,” this person said. “[Jennifer’s] trying to be friendly with Ben. They are still moving forward with the divorce though. They are working out financial details amicably.… A divorce is never easy, but Jennifer doesn’t want to be selfish about it. The kids always got along and have fun together. It makes her happy seeing the kids happy together. Happy kids are her priority.”
Though Jennifer Lopez was effusive and open about their love story right through February 2024—when she released her movie and her documentary, which both focus on her and Affleck’s love story—she hasn’t said anything about their split besides filing the papers in California.
Or has she? That revenge dress? Showing off the fact that she’d gotten her Affleck tattoo removed? Having a deep talk with his best friend Matt Damon? Flaunting her “unbothered” attitude in an Instagram dump? These are images worth thousands of words.
