After tying the knot with Ben Affleck for the second time, in lavish three-day nuptials in Georgia, Jennifer Lopez shared hints of his wedding speech via her newsletter On The JLo. Turns out, Affleck quoting “This is heaven. Right Here. We’re in it now,” from his film Live By Night was part of an especially long speech.
The detail was revealed by American filmmaker and Affleck’s longtime friend Kevin Smith, who appeared on the talk show The View, sharing that Affleck wrote a “breathtaking” 12-page speech to express his love for Lopez. “He’s one of my favorite writers on the planet,” said the Clerks producer. “He wrote his vows — they [both] wrote their vows, but he wrote a big speech that he read to her at the wedding, which was breathtaking—and it was long.” He continued, “That’s one of my favorite things about Ben: He’s his own biggest fan, so he wrote like a 12-page speech. It was wonderful. Very inspiring. I was happy for them. They deserve it.”

Smith went on to share his experience at the wedding, and said, “Even a cold-hearted robot would walk away from that ceremony like, ‘Oh my god, true love can happen!’ It was a real fairy-tale ending. And [Jennifer Lopez] has impeccable taste, the whole place looked amazing. [Lopez] looked fantastic. They all looked fantastic.”
In her newsletter detailing the wedding, Lopez spoke about her husband’s speech and the particular quote from his movie, adding that it was one of her favorite lines written by Affleck. “He also said it the night of our wedding reception in his speech, and I thought… How perfect,” she said.
